The Jim Corbett National Park has been divided into 4 safari zones which are Jhirna, Bijrani, Durgadevi, Dhikala. There are regular safaris that are conducted in the morning and the evening time that are Jhirna, Bijrani and Durgadevi district. Barely 30 open JEEPS can make an entry within the park at one time.
This Zone is located nearly 16 kms away from Ramnagar. This particular zone is open for the tourists all around the year. It is situated on the southern part of the Corbett Park. Prior to making it a reserve it was a popular hunting zone. The timings for safari in the Jhirna zone is from 6:00 am to 9:30 am. Evening safari timing is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. For the morning safari permits should be taken 10 days in advance from the date you are keen to travel whereas afternoon safaris are booked on first come first serve. Maximum 6 people are permitted at one time. Rates vary as per the season but normally it is Rs 3500 per jeep and the rates are inclusive of all like permit charges, the fees of the guide, charges of the jeep and road charges. For advance booking the name, age and one ID detail of a person is required.
Bijrani zone jeep safari begins from the Aamdanda Gate. The place is approximately 2 kms away from the Ramnagar City. This special zone is open for the visitors from 15 October to the end of June. This particularly famous for the royal Bangal Tiger, elephants and watching of birds. The timings are the same as that in the Jhirna Zone. The new jeep safari charges at Jhirna Zone are nearly 3400/- per Jeep and only 6 persons are permitted in every jeep.
This zone is barely 28 kms from the Ramnagar city and is at the rear part of the River Ramganga. This zone is popular for the Mahasheer fishes and one can come across variety of bird species. The new rates of the jeep safari at the Jhirna Zone is around 4000/ and not more then 6 people are permitted in the jeep. Dhikala Zone Jeep Safari: One of the most favorite in Corbett Park Dikhla Zone is called the heart of the Corbett. Some 50 kms away from the town of Ramnagar and the entry to this zone is from the Dhangrahi which is another 15 kms from the Ramnagar city. One has to stay overnight to take pleasure in the jeep safari here. The new rates at Dhikala Zone Jeep safari is approximately 4000 and only 6 people are entitled to sit in one jeep.
For booking the jeep Safari all you have to do is send the information or your itinerary well in advance as there is a restriction on the number of vehicles permitted within the park at one time. You are required to take the ID at the time you are commuting in the safari. For the booking in advance you need to carry the Photo ID of being an Indian Nationals and if you are from abroad the passport details of a foreign national is compulsory.
Any Photo ID like Voter Id /Driving licence or Pan card is required. You can send us the ID details like the number, DOB, and your name for booking .whilst traveling the tourist should be equipped with the same ID.
If you are from a foreign land the Passport Number, your name and gender, the date of issue and ending and nationality is requisite for getting the bookings done of the morning jeep Safari. On the other hand the booking of the evening safari is generally done on the first come first basis and the guest is required to travel personally to the Ramnagar Forest office department to get the safari booked. The permit for afternoon safari is generally booked 2 days prior to the safari.
The jeep safari is ultimate fun and runs on a particular trail that are specially maintained for these safaris.The tourists are taken to the deep forest areas. Safari are not allowed after sunsets for the safety reasons. The time duration of the Jeep safari is nearly 3 to 31/2 hours. As compared to the canter safari jeep safari falls a little expensive. In the morning it starts at 6.30 am and lasts till 10 am whereas in the evening it is 2.30pm to 5.30 pm. You can stay within the park or there are many good accommodations in close proximity to the Corbett National Park.
